Kadek was a fantastic host. We had a wonderful time at the Villa. It was clean, the layout suited our family perfectly and
having Ibu Lilik around to prepare some of meals added to the overall relaxation and the convenience of the trip.

Our only regret is that we did not rent a car. We had a car and driver most days but any late night visits to Sanur town
required ordering a taxi, which Kadek did for us, but our own car would have given us a bit more freedom of movement.

We did not see Kadek ourselves but he arrange that we can arrive a little bit earlier.
Lilly was very friendly, exceptionally helpful and discrete and attended to all our needs.
We did not have a good rapport with the recommended driver and later on used someone else.
We were under the impression that there are aircon in all the rooms but one did not have it.
Access to the beach are also not that easy as portrayed.

The house is spacious, bright, and clean. Fresh air is all around.
View from the 2nd floor is great, looking thru the sea.
Pool is great as well, our kids love it. Housekeeping is wonderful.
We have Ms. Liliek the housekeeper cook for us, and the food is great.
Kitchen utensils are complete. The beach behind is quite and fun to walk or play.

"Charming Villa with sea views"

We ended a 5 day Bali Eco Tour at Villa Balinda. We arrived in the dark and our driver
struggled to find the Villa, due to its remote location. We could see the night lights of Sanur from
the Villa but it wasn't until the morning that Villa Balinda's true value was revealed.
Villa Balinda is situated rurally, in Padang Galak on the outskirts of Sanur, about 200m from
the beach. You can see and hear the sea. A lovely paved walkway connects Padang Galak with the township.
It is well worth an early morning walk, or run into Sanur for an early morning coffee. Padang Galak beach
attracts many early morning walkers, bikers, pilgrims, surfers and beach combers. The weekend of our stay just happened
to coincide with the start of a Full Moon ceremony so there was a lot of noise at night
(Villa is situated close to a 'girlie bar' so on Friday night we were treated to thumping
bom bom beats until at least 3am) and daytime activities, prayers and offerings started around 530am.
Love them or hate them, roosters herald the start of each day.
The Villa's high pitched roof design attracts both heat and noise to the top level, but you can escape to
the beautiful pool below or the bottom level bedrooms (if you rent the whole house).
Being outside Sanur has its advantages especially if you like a semi-rural location and it is
only a short 5min taxi ride away from the city. There are lots of little shops close to the
Villa and you can walk to other restaurants within a few hundred metres.
If you rent the whole of Villa Balinda, there are 3 comfortable sized rooms with the master bedroom
located upstairs. Furnishings are simple but comfortable.
You can survive without AC, using large ceiling fans, as the house has large windows that
can let in lots of air, however, be prepared for the noise of parties, scooters beeping,
dogs, roosters and crickets, if you want fresh air. There is good seating in the lounge, a large dinning table
and if you want to self cater, gas hobs, fridge and microave. Filtered water is provided and
you can access a small kitchenette on the lower level. There is also a filter coffee machine.
The pool is fantastic and it is just a short walk to beach for a swim or surf. The house comes with
a local mobile phone, which makes ringing a taxi easy, or booking logistics for the next leg of your journey.
We were looked after by Lily, who made us breakfast, picked up wet towels after the (3) kids (normally my job)
and helped us with advice. We extended our stay from 2-4 nights as
we enjoyed our time so much, and we would definitely return.
